Nestled in the heart of Ashby de la Zouch, our deli, kitchen, and coffee shop offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern culinary delights, all in a setting that honours the rich history of our location.
Our Story
Lil Bo’s Deli is the brainchild of Steve and Deborah Evans, a local couple with a deep-rooted passion for quality food and drink. Steve, with years of experience in the restaurant industry, and Deborah, with her background in the family construction business, brought their skills and enthusiasm together to create a place that reflects their love for great food, conviviality, and community spirit.
The journey to Lil Bo’s began when the perfect spot in Mill Lane Mews became available. The historic building, once home to a tea room and even a candlemaker’s shop in the 18th century, captured their imagination. With careful refurbishment that retained original features like ceiling beams and exposed brickwork, they transformed the space into the warm, welcoming venue that it is today.

Our menu features hearty breakfasts like ‘The Pig’, packed with bacon, sausage, black pudding, tomato, egg, and toast, as well as vegetarian options like ‘The Veggie’, featuring halloumi, mushrooms, spinach, tomato, egg, and toast. We also offer an array of small plates, perfect for a light bite, and larger dishes that are ideal for a leisurely meal. Don’t miss our signature Lil Bo’s Ploughmans, baked whole Camembert, and warm burrata salad, all made with the freshest ingredients.
Our deli counter is a treasure trove of gourmet delights, including a selection of cheeses, meats, and pies, alongside freshly baked sourdough and chutneys from local artisans. Whether you’re picking up lunch or selecting the perfect components for a home-cooked meal, our range offers something special for every occasion.
For those who appreciate a fine drink, our wine cellar boasts an impressive selection of wines, handpicked in collaboration with Swadlincote-based wine wholesaler Colombia Wines. We also carry a variety of spirits, with a special focus on Welsh products, as well as artisanal ceramics and cookware that add a touch of elegance to any kitchen.

Our gift shop area features handmade jewellery, candles, and artwork by local artists, alongside items from Steve’s native Wales, such as Welsh Tweed. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, we invite you to make Lil Bo’s Deli your go-to spot for quality food, great coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’re open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, and Sunday from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm.
